The Problem

Currently, rape test kit tracking is handled differently across each state, leading to confusing and inefficient processes. This has resulted in an unacceptable backlog of untested kits, leaving survivors without the justice they deserve.

The Current Tracking System

Status_of_Rape_Test_Kit_tracking_system.png

Many states have individual tracking systems, but there is no comprehensive national system that connects them all. This results in a disjointed, difficult to navigate process that leaves survivors waiting for justice.

State-by-State

Each state has its own system, making it difficult for law enforcement to track kits across state lines.

Lengthy Delays

Survivors may not receive updates for months or even years, causing even more trauma and uncertainty.

Paper Trails

Many systems rely on paperwork, making it easy for data to be lost or forgotten.

Limited Access

Not all states have publicly accessible tracking systems, making it difficult for survivors to monitor the status of their kit.
